1. Jonathon the raccoon (@jonathontheraccoon)

Keeping a raccoon as a pet might seem very out of the norm, but Jonathon assures that he’s just like any other pet. Jonathon was rescued after his mom was killed in a car accident and when his paw-rents tried calling for animal control, no one came so they decided to raise him instead. Cheeky, goofy and downright adorable, Jonathon’s made a home with his family and loves to play with his big sister Roxy! This raccoon is always up to something, be it play-wrestling with his sister or rummaging through the fridge. His inquisitive and charming personality makes this Instagram account a must to follow!

2. Hamlet the pig (@hamlet_the_piggy)

Hamlet the pig is no ordinary piggy—she’s a fashionista, often seen rocking the latest trends and looking like a total diva. The pig from Nashville, Tennessee, is often seen living the fun life, but that’s not all to her story. Hamlet is also a therapy pig, spreading cheer and comfort to people who are unwell, including her paw-rent, Melanie, who has epilepsy. Due to her medical condition, she was unable to work so Hamlet provided her with much needed emotional support. Hamlet can even sense when Melanie is about to have an epilepsy attack and will sit on her legs to warn her! Hamlet’s life is certainly interesting (who wouldn’t want to see a pig sporting neon wigs and sunglasses?) so her Instagram account is definitely one you should check out!

3. Lionel the hedgehog (@lionelthehog)

Named after Lionel Richie, this hedgehog is possibly one of the cutest critters you’d ever come across on Instagram—just look at its adorable face! Lionel’s paw-rent took in the photogenic hedgehog because its previous owner couldn’t take care of him any longer, and its Instagram account was born after realising that the little ball was a natural in front of a camera. Follow Lionel if you’d like to see him in tiny hats, inside small cups, and just being plain adorable. Hedgehogs are timid creatures by nature and often don’t like being handled, but Lionel’s relationship with his paw-rent is certainly one that shines through every shot, making this little hedgie’s Instagram feed all the more enjoyable!

4. Chisai and Ookie the sugar gliders (@sugar_flavored)

When this adorable pair of glider sisters were first rescued, they were underweight, scared, and had severe urinary tract infections. However, after some tender loving care from their paw-rents, these precious sugar gliders blossomed and became the best of friends! While they look similar, their personalities are very different—sweet Chisai loves to snooze and laze around, while  Ookie loves being the center of attention. Their feed is filled with pictures of them snuggling in oversized blankets (which adds to the charm because they are so tiny) and videos of them gliding around. With their big, curious eyes and warm personalities, it’s impossible not to fall in love with them. You should definitely check out their page for more sweet images!

5. Cartel the Otter (@carteltheotter)

If you love seeing cute otters fooling around, snuggling, and flopping around in pools, you’d definitely fall in love with Cartel the Asian Small Clawed Otter—just imagine an Instagram feed filled with videos and pictures of the cute mammal using his tiny paws to play with accessories or cuddling with his paw-rent in bed! While he can live on both land and in the sea, his paw-rents ensure that he gets some time to play in the water. Often, his paw-rents will post pictures of Cartel as a baby and they’re completely swoon-worthy! As a pup, Cartel is fluffy and small, which is the best combination to move even the iciest of hearts.
