Monty's Dog Beach & Bar Crikvenica
From having to learn new commands, to practising awkward poses for frivolous Instagram stories, it’s tiring being a dog these days. Lucky for the pups in Croatia, they can take a break at Monty’s Dog Beach & Bar Crikvenica.
Opened since July last year, the bar is shaped like a massive dog house and serves dog-friendly pizza, ice cream and herbal tea to tame Fido’s munchies. And for the furry lush, there’s a specially brewed non-alcoholic “beer” made from chicken and vegetables, because what good is a bar without beer? Pet owners can enjoy complimentary wi-fi and treat themselves to refreshing ice cream and Insta-worthy frothy coffee in a mason jar, but make no mistake—this place is dedicated for your furkid.
Four months ago, the bar held its first dog and human race, where 15 furkids and their paw-rents ran down a pier, jumped into the ocean, and swam 100m back to the shore. True to his moniker, Nimbus (named after Harry Potter’s swift Nimbus 2000 broomstick), a four-year-old Samoyed mix and his owner, won the race along with a 7kg bag of dog food and a weekend staycation at a local hotel.
Lucky Dog Bark and Brew
Think of Singapore’s biggest pet cafe, multiply it by about 10, and you have Lucky Dog Bark and Brew—a doggy daycare and boarding facility in North Carolina, the venue that incorporates a massive 25,000 sq ft dog park and bar with a spacious outdoor fenced patio where pooches can run free.
If Fido is more of an indoor pup or is prone to heatstroke during summer, there’s a huge indoor play area with colorful plastic ramps, and air-conditioned, of course. There are mop buckets strategically located all around the facility for cleaning up potty accidents. While your furry one clocks some playtime, you can enjoy happy hour by the bar with your favourite tipple.
To ensure that everyone has a fun and safe experience, Lucky Dog Bark and Brew has a few house rules: Every furry patron has to be spayed or neutered to enter the sports bar, and must be vaccinated.
